The approach is always tailored to your needs, ensuring a supportive and collaborative process.

  • The length of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients may find a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term support. Short-term therapy (6–12 sessions) may focus on specific concerns, whereas long-term therapy provides deeper exploration of patterns, trauma, and complex issues.

  • Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or fortnightly to maintain momentum in the therapeutic process. The frequency may decrease over time as progress is made. Your psychologist will discuss a schedule that best suits your needs.

  • Yes, therapy is client-led, meaning you are encouraged to bring up any concerns or topics that feel important to you. Your psychologist will help guide discussions and introduce strategies to support your goals, but the focus remains on what you feel is most relevant.

    • Take some time to reflect on what you would like to work on in therapy.

    • Consider any key challenges, symptoms, or patterns you’ve noticed.

    • Bring any relevant documents, such as referral letters (if applicable).

Psychological Assessment & Evaluation

We offer comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. A clinical or neuropsychological assessment is a structured evaluation that helps identify cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning. It involves interviews, standardised tests, and observations to gain a comprehensive understanding of a person’s psychological or neurocognitive profile.

Assessments can assist in diagnosing and understanding a range of conditions, including:

  • ADHD and executive functioning difficulties

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Learning difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia)

  • Intellectual disabilities or giftedness

  • Memory and cognitive impairments

  • Brain injuries or neurological conditions

  • Anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns

  • Personality disorders

  • An assessment typically includes:

    1. Initial consultation – A discussion about your concerns, history, and goals.

    2. Standardised testing – Completing cognitive, emotional, or behavioural tests.

    3. Clinical interview – Gathering detailed information about your experiences.

    4. Collateral information – Input from teachers, caregivers, or medical professionals (if applicable).

    5. Report and feedback session – A detailed report summarising findings and recommendations.

  • The length of an assessment depends on the type and complexity. Some assessments take a few hours, while comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations may require multiple sessions over several days. A full assessment process, including report writing, can take several weeks to complete.

  • Your psychologist will provide specific instructions, but general preparation may include:

    • Bringing previous medical or educational reports (if applicable).

    • Ensuring you are well-rested and have eaten before your session.

    • Taking prescribed medications as usual unless instructed otherwise.

  • Results are typically provided in a written report and discussed in a feedback session. The report will outline key findings, diagnostic information (if applicable), and tailored recommendations for support, treatment, or interventions. This report can be shared with doctors, educators, or other professionals involved in your care.

  • The cost varies depending on the type and complexity of the assessment. Your psychologist will provide a fee structure before booking your appointment.
